
USTZ. MUHAMMAD AIMAN MOHAMAD SALMI
A Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance (CPIF) and a Certified Shariah Adviser & Auditor (CSAA), Aiman holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws (Shariah)(Honours) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a MSc in Islamic Finance from INCEIF, Malaysia. An Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya (Malaysia) and a qualified Malaysian Syarie Counsel, he regularly delivers Islamic Finance courses and has completed the prestigious “i-Advisor program” organized by the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SCM). He is the Principal Consultant and Qualified Shariah Personnel for Tawafuq Consultancy, as required by SCM and an accredited trainer with the Islamic Banking & Finance Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM).

AHMAD MU’AZ MOHD NAWAWI
Mu’az started his career in legal practice after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and completed his Diploma in Shariah Legal Practice (DSLP) from University Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Later in October 2012 he was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and is a member of the Malaysia Association of Syarie Lawyer (PGSM) since 2011. In 2017 he was among the few to complete the full “Corporate Lawyers Training Series – 6 Key Aspects of Compliance” organized by Bar Council Malaysia.

DR. MUHAMMAD PISOL BIN MAT ISA
Dr Pisol is a distinguished Malaysian scholar and senior consultant at Tawafuq Consultancy Sdn Bhd. He has over 22 years of experience working as an academician. He is also a respected Shariah Committee member for several Islamic banks and Takaful companies in Malaysia. Dr Pisol received his PhD in Islamic finance from Universiti Malaya. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from al-Azhar University and Master’s degree from Universiti Malaya, both in Islamic Thought. His areas of interest include Islamic finance, fiqh Muamalat, Islamic Economics, Islamic microfinance, Islamic civilization, and Islamic thought. In addition, Dr Muhammad Pisol Bin Mat Isa completed the Certified Shariah Advisor (CSA) program conducted by ASAS in 2020 and is a registered Shariah advisor at Security Commission Malaysia

USTZ. MUHAMMAD HASANAN YUNUS
Hasanan is a Lead Consultant for Shariah Research, Advisory and Consultancy Unit. A Shariah Adviser registered with Securities Commission Malaysia, he holds a Bachelor Degree in Shariah from Universiti Malaya, Islamic Professional Credit Certification (iPCC) from IBFIM, and Shariah Registered Planner (SRFP) from MFPC. He has extensive experience in the Islamic finance industry. During his tenure as the Head of Shariah & Governance at Bursa Malaysia, he was involved as a key person in various initiatives, such as Project Manager in developing and rolling out the “Islamic Securities Selling and Buying Negotiated Transaction”, as well as leading numerous research related to the Islamic finance industry.

DR. SARAFUDDIN ABDUL SYAHID SOWELL
Dr Syahid graduated from IIUM in 2008 in Law & obtained his PhD in Law from IIUM in 2022. he brings with him more than a decade of experience in Islamic finance advisory & learning capabilities. Prior to joining Tawafuq, he spearheaded the development of the Action Based Unit in INCEIF University. In 2020 – 2022, he was with ISRA Consulting Sdn Bhd as Head of the Executive Training unit which focused on securing collaboration and business for the department. He has experienced being part of the management team in developing new businesses in the area of consultancy and training. Dr Syahid is also a trainer and has delivered training in the areas of corporate governance, ethics & professionalism, Takaful & Islamic banking.

USTAZ MOHD NOOR ADZWAN ADAM
Adzwan obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Muamalat Administration (Honours) from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia in 2008. He later received his Master’s in Shariah from Universiti Malaya in 2018. He began his career as a Shariah Executive at Etiqa Takaful Berhad from 2009 to 2015, as a Shariah Executive performing Shariah compliance functions and training development. He was a lecturer at UNITAR in 2019, where he led Shariah and Islamic finance courses. He was also appointed the Head of the Finance Program to carry out academic administrative functions for finance-related programs and courses. He has extensive experience in training and education development for Shariah compliance and Islamic finance.

PN. APNIZAN BINTI ABDULLAH
Apnizan Abdullah obtained her LL.B (Honours), the Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) and the LL.BS (first class) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2003, 2004 and 2014 respectively. She received dean’s list certificates and rector’s list during her university studies. She was honoured with the Best Student Award for Islamic banking & Takaful in 2003, a prize sponsored by Messrs. Azmi & associates. In 2011, she was awarded with the Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) from INCEIF with distinction and has become a member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Practitioners (CIIF) since then. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2006 and subsequently practiced at Messrs. Mak Farid & Company. She served the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia as the Research Fellow from 2015 to 2020 and the International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) as a Researcher from 2012 to 2013.
Prior to that, she was a lecturer at the University Malaya and University of Tunku Abdul Rahman. She has written various research papers and articles in academic journals, magazines, newspapers, and websites and presented research outputs at national and international seminars and conferences. She has been active in conducting trainings to Islamic banks and advisory works in the sphere of Islamic Financial laws since 2010 focusing on the regulatory and governance aspects and legal documentations in Islamic finance practice. She has been engaged by public and private entities, locally and internationally for consultancy works in Islamic finance and wealth management. Among key clients of her consultancy works were Central Bank of Maldives, Companies Commission of Malaysia, UNICEF, COREIS Italy, Lembaga Zakat Selangor, KUIS and Bank Islam. She specializes in Islamic financial laws and wealth management. Due to her vast experience and exposure in Islamic finance industry, Financial Accreditation Agency (FAA) has appointed her as Professional Assessor. She was a senior associate at Mu’az Aiman Halem Auzan & Associates (MAHALAWYERS) as Senior Associate and Tawafuq Consultancy as an Ad-hoc Senior Consultant. He’s currently the founder and managing director of Hyrem Capital Sdn Bhd and Hyrem Retail Sdn Bhd, which specializes in the provision of corporate financial advisory services, distribution, and retailing of luxury home decor & dinnerware businesses. Among his key clients are Dynac Sdn Bhd, Jakel Holding Sdn Bhd, Serba Dinamik Bhd, Almurisi Holdings Sdn Bhd, and Gates IT Solution Sdn Bhd.

NURUL ATIQAH ANUAR
Nurul Atiqah Anuar is a highly experienced professional excelling in governance, legal, and compliance fields. With expertise in non-profit, private, and public sectors, her journey began with a law degree on scholarship from BOND University in Australia. Currently, she serves as a lead strategist and consultant at the International Governance and Sustainability Centre, boasting a decade of hands-on experience.
As a Chartered Governance Professional and Chartered Secretary registered under The Governance Institute, Nurul has steered the strategic direction and governance of an international grantor organization, managing annual funds of Euro 6 million, benefiting regions across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. Beyond governance, she is a certified Project Management Development Professional, offering guidance on sustainable development projects. In 2021, she represented Malaysia as the Country Champion for the International Financial Reporting for Non-Profit Organization (IFR4NPO) initiative.
Nurul’s expertise covers Governance, Legal, Secretarial, and Compliance matters, as well as Strategic Planning, Organizational Development, Quality Management and Project Management. Outside her professional realm, she is a certified coach registered under the FEI (International Federation for Equestrian Sports) and contributes actively to social initiatives.

MAZRUL SHAHIR MD. ZUKI
Mazrul Shahir Md. Zuki is the Lead Consultant, Strategic Business at Tawafuq Consultancy covering Learning & Talent Development, Business Development, Halal Services, Islamic Social Finance, and Publication. Prior to joining Tawafuq, he was the Corporate Relationship Manager at INCEIF Centre of Excellence for Islamic Social Finance (COEIsF). He has served INCEIF and ISRA as a Senior Executive Business Development, Researcher and Shariah Consultant at ISRA Consulting for 10 years.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Education (Islamic Studies & Shariah), from the University of Saba’, Yemen and a Master’s degree in Islamic Banking, Finance, & Management from the University of Gloucestershire, UK. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Business & Law, International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW).
His main strength is in Shariah advisory & consultancy services and capacity building in Islamic finance most prominently as the programme director for Islamic Finance for Board of Directors (IF4BOD), involving over three hundred Boards of directors of IFIs in Malaysia. He also has produced research papers and articles on Shariah and Islamic finance and actively presented/participated in workshops, seminars and conferences with some articles have been published in international magazines such as the CIBAFI and the International Journal of Contemporary Management and Technology (IJCMT). His core research interest is in Waqf, Zakat, Crowdfunding, Halal Industry etc.
His has also made significant contributions with his involvement in developing Shariah Policy Guidelines for Interest Schemes issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and as a working committee (data collection) BNM Shariah Standard Commentary Books and Shariah Rules and Interpretations across Jurisdictions: Towards Greater Global Connectivity in Islamic Finance collaboration research with BNM.
He was a member of the SC of MIDF and Shariah Advisor to MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad & Labuan for 8 years. He also served as interim Chairman of Shariah Advisory Committee Member at BNP Paribas Malaysia and Labuan, serves as a member of the working group Code of Ethics for halal practitioners under JAKIM & Standard Malaysia, and fellowship advisory committee for Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah (LZNK).
